This page describes some of the special events and support provided for students attending the conference.
ISCA Grants for Attending the Conference
ISCA can provide financial support to students and young scientists participating in Interspeech 2009 through a limited number of grants.
The support covers early registration and possibly accommodation costs, while transportation costs are covered only in exceptional cases. Applicants from all countries are eligible.

Student Panel Discussion
The ISCA Student Advisory Committee (SAC) is organizing a student panel discussion session during Interspeech 2009, on Tuesday 8th September at 13:30 - 15:30 in East Wing 4.
The aim is to offer students the opportunity to discuss methodological aspects of research with senior researchers. This year, we will address the question of Making an impact with research by solving real problems, and invited panel members are:
- M. Mc Tear, Professor, University of Ulster, U.K.
- G. Zweig, Senior Researcher, Microsoft Research, USA
- P. Bretier, Senior Researcher, Orange Labs, France
This event is planned by students for the benefit of students, so do not hesitate to come and participate!!!
Student Reception
There will be a drinks reception for student delegates on Tuesday evening at the Al Duomo restaurant.
